Starting Nursery 2025

We are delighted that you are considering sending your child to Lark Hill Community Primary School in September 2025.

On behalf of the staff, children, parents, carers and governors, I would like to welcome you and your family to Lark Hill Community Primary school and hope that you will soon feel part of our school community.

Starting somewhere new can be a worrying and uncertain time so we have created this page to answer some of your questions and to give you some general information about how our school and EYFS classes work.

We understand that your child starting school for the first time is a very important step which can be daunting. Therefore, if you require any support, please do not hesitate to contact us using the following email address: admin@larkhillprimary.uk

Please remember that we are always here to work with you as you support your child to get the best education they can. When you are offered the school place at Lark Hill, it is important to accept the place on the portal so that we can contact you and make arrangements to support your child's transition to Nursery. Look out for more information from school at this time.

We look forward to getting to know you and your child and welcoming you to Lark Hill at the beginning of a very exciting part of their learning journey.

Uniform

We do lots of enjoyable and messy activities in Nursery, and inevitably the children will get dirty. For this reason we require children to wear a school uniform. We also ask that parents and carers provide a spare set of clothes which must stay on your child’s peg. These clothes do not have to be uniform, but they allow us to easily change your child should they have an accident or get wet. The clothes should be in a carrier bag labelled with your child’s name (no rucksacks, please) Please also supply a change of underwear, in case of ‘accidents’.

The school uniform for Lark Hill is as follows:

  • Purple sweatshirt or cardigan
  • White polo top or white shirt (non-logo)
  • Grey or black trousers or skirt
  • All black school shoes or all black trainers
  • In the summer purple gingham dresses can be worn
  • Jeans or fashion trousers are not allowed
  • No logos on uniforms except for the school logo
  • No large bows in hair
  • Stud earrings only and a watch. No hoops or necklaces
