Year 5

If you are looking for ways to support your child's learning  whilst they are unable to attend school, please click the link below to take you to the home learning page for upper key stage 2.

In Maths this week we are learning about fractions: solving calculations with fractions; converting mixed fractions to improper fractions; and looking at equivalences. We will be moving on to look at the place value of decimal numbers and how to convert between fractions, decimals and percentages.

In English this week we are starting a new unit - Macbeth. Over the next few weeks we will be learning to write an effective character description of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and the witches. The following link summarises the story in modern day English:

Over the weeks we will be breaking down the characters and studying them in depth.

In Science this half term we have been looking at Living Things and Their Habitats. We have been classifying animals and will be moving on to look at microorganisms and how they grow.

In Topic we have been learning about life 'On the Farm'. We have studied where our food comes from, food miles and this week will be learning about which foods are seasonal and how we access them all year round.

Hello!

Mrs Dunne, Mr Shurlock and Mr Early would like to welcome you to the Year 5 page.
