Year 4

Mrs Buckley, Miss Singleton, Miss Bostock and Mrs Carroll would like to welcome you to the Year 4 page. Hopefully, this will help you to know what your child will be learning about at school. You are of course, always welcome to meet with either your child's class teacher, Miss Singleton and Mrs Buckley for 4W, Miss Bostock for 4S and Mrs Carroll for the year 4s in 3/4H. Alternatively, you can arrange to see the assistant head teacher for the Phase, Mrs Buckley. We are always happy to answer any questions you might have about your child's learning and their time at school.

PE is on a Monday morning and the children currently have dance on a Wednesday. Please try to remember to send a PE kit on these days.

In year 3 and 4, we study a 2 year rolling curriculum because we have some children in a Year 3/4 class. We have to make sure that all of the children are getting the same curriculum coverage, whichever class they are in, and that they are not learning the same areas twice, or missing anything out. This means that we will be learning about the same curriculum across our five classes. The teaching, questions asked and resources we use will be tailored to the needs of each class by our teachers.

Our theme this term is What Makes Britain Great?

This is what we will be covering in the wider curriculum, until February half-term.
