KS1 Home Learning During School Closure

UPDATE: 22nd June

Good Morning,

We have had requests from some parents to add some structure to the week's learning from home. Please find attached a maths and English lesson for each day of the week, that can be completed online. For each day, there is a video of a teacher teaching a lesson. They will discuss the learning, explain what to do and go through the answers to the questions within the video. Each session takes about 30 minutes, and should be quite manageable. There are no special worksheet or resources needed, just a pencil and paper if you want to take notes, or you can discuss the answers together and not write anything down. There is a mini-quiz at the end of each day, 3-6 questions, to check the learning.

Your class teacher will link opportunities to practise key skills through IXL and EPIC, so please continue to access these resources to develop independent learning skills and fluency. TTRockstars and Numbots should still be used to support improved fluency; research shows that these skills can quickly be lost if practise is not kept up.

We hope that this will be both manageable for your family, and support your child in returning to some sense of routine and learning in the absence of school.

If you have any questions, please speak to the teacher who calls next, or call or email the school office and I will get back to you,

If you have photos you'd like to share of your child learning at home, email us a copy and we'll share it on the school website.

Thank you for your ongoing support with your child's education. Remember to share photos of home learning by emailing as we love seeing photos of the children learning. Take care of each other and stay safe. We hope to see you all again soon.
