Remember that children have to complete at least 2 menu options over the next half term. Starters are the easiest activities followed by mains. Sides offer that extra challenge! Enjoy this terms selection and tuck in!
Welcome to Year 6. We are your teachers this year - Miss Deighan, Miss Beech and Miss Hughes.
Year 6 is a busy year. We have so much to learn and we will be working really hard to make sure you really enjoy your time in our classes. We have a variety of exciting topics to look forward to: I.D, A Child's War, Frozen kingdom, Revolution and Gallery Rebels.
We will be working really hard towards our end of year exams. Don’t worry though as we will make sure you are more than ready for them. Towards the end of the year we will also be getting ready to help you prepare for your move to new schools. There is no need to worry at all as we will be with you every step of the way.
Keep checking back for all our news and let's make this a year to remember.
On 2nd November we had a special visit from a WW2 survivor! He came in to school to talk to us about his life during the war and answer our questions.
We were completely awestruck by his fascinating tales – from narrowly escaping death as the house next door to his was bombed in 1941, to his escape to Ireland and the life he and his family had there.
We learnt so much about life for the ordinary people during the war, and the effect it had on life afterwards, such as rationing. We now feel quite lucky to have some of the luxuries that we take for granted!
After Mick’s visit we are now very excited to continue learning about WW2 and how life changed for so many.
Police and Crime Awareness Day
Greater Manchester Police visited school and worked with years 5 and 6. The children received training on various Crime/Drug/Knife Awareness issues to help ensure that our Community is a safe place to live.
