PE provision at Lark Hill
All PE lessons at Lark Hill are taught by a PE specialist teacher, Mr Andrew Quigley with additional support from a PE teaching assistant. We provide a high quality PE curriculum for Reception to Year 6 covering a wide range of sports during lesson time as well as sport specific after school clubs. Sports covered in after school clubs: athletics, basketball, fencing, rounders, volleyball, football, table tennis, handball, rugby and dance.
Lark Hill has achieved the Silver Kitemark for the last three years, starting the PE specialist delivering curriculum PE the year prior to the Sport premium grant. The school is using the School Games Kitemark system to look for ways to improve and achieve gold. Mr Quigley is looking to use the school website more to improve communication with families about PE, competitions and after school sports clubs.
Premium funding is also used for the contributions to the Salford School Sports Partnership. Lark Hill takes part in level 2 competitions organised and delivered by the SSP and has been successful to qualify for the level 3 Manchester School Games in both basketball and tri golf. The partnership provides a CPD programme in which Mr Quigley takes part.
